Ponencia: “Groovy 1.8 and beyond!”

The recent release of Groovy 1.8 is the opportunity for us to discover and discuss the new features of the important milestone!

One of the biggest highlight of the new release is certainly the improved support for advanced and readable Domain-Specific Languages thanks to Groovy 1.8′s “command chain” expressions. The Groovy team also focused on bringing some new performance improvements, especially in the area of primitive type arithmetics. The distribution also comes with GPars bundled, for all your concurrency needs, and a built-in support for parsing and producing JSON payloads has been provided. You will also discover all the new AST Transformations that will help you further streamline your code, and make it more concise and more powerful at no cost!

After a review of the key feature of Groovy 1.8, we’ll have a look at what’s cooking, and what the Groovy development team is working on for future versions of Groovy!
